The Dreamer Fish, 2005, Or Gallery, Vancouver

Wax replica of dreamer fish dissected to expose swallowed packing tape
15cm x 15cm, wax, wood, brass

Living in the darkness of the deep ocean, the dreamer fish uses a glowing light that hangs above its head to attract mates and prey. In this exhibition I created a dissected wax replica of the fish, drawings of microscopic views of the fish's lure and a video interview with a dreamer fish expert, who described its parasitic mating habits (the tiny males suction themselves to the female). Hanging in the centre of the gallery was a helmet to experience life as a Dreamer fish.
